ISLANDERS 12 MARQUESAS
The Marquesas are made up of five groups of islands in the Pacific Ocean scattered over an area the size of Europe. It’s the centre of French Polynesia and a dream hideaway. Artists such as Paul Gauguin and troubadour Jacques Brel were amongst those who chose these islands for that very reason. Cannibalism was practiced here and the islander’s traditional skin tattoos tell the story of the inhabitants and the history and legends of the archipelago.
