Dancing on Broken Glass is an original Slovak music and dance film. The story of a mature man, who relives the important moments of his life, makes his dreams, desires and ideas come true. The fragility of love, strength of desire, pain, rejection, bitterness and beauty of knowledge, and the unequal struggle with the death and oneself – such strong emotions are transformed into temperamental and poetic dance images. In his film, director Marek Ťapák follows the traditions of music and dance films made by legendary Slovak filmmakers of the past and transforms them into a new, contemporary form.
